The United States is a land of opportunities and attracts many foreign workers to the United States every year while their parents and other close family members are still back in their home country. Many professionals work here for several years and eventually get a green card then become U.S. citizens, which can take a very long time, even decades. Until that time, they are unable to sponsor their parents to come and live with them permanently. Even though they’re in another country, they of course still want to see their family from back home. Such professionals in this situation in the U.S. invite their family to visit the United States. Their visit serves dual purposes: visiting the spectacular country and its various tourist places, as well as spending some quality time with the family.

As many of the parents and in-laws of such professionals are senior in age, they could have several pre-existing conditions. Therefore, it is important to look for the best travel insurance plans for visitors to USA with pre-existing conditions coverage.

Visitors Protect Insurance

While most visitors insurance plan in the market cannot provide coverage for routine maintenance of pre-existing conditions, pre-scheduled treatment, or any anticipated treatment, there is one such plan that can offer pre-existing condition coverage with certain restrictions: Visitors Protect insurance. Visitors Protect is underwritten by SiriusPoint Specialty Insurance Corporation and carries an A- “Excellent" rating by A.M. Best.

With Visitors Protect, you can choose a policy maximum of $50,000 to $250,000 up to age 69, and $50,000 for visitors up to age 110. Deductibles of $250 to $5,000 are available for ages up to 110, after which the plan would pay 75% (60% out of network) to the policy maximum.

Visitors Protect utilizes the United Healthcare PPO network

What is unique about Visitors Protect insurance is that it offers true coverage for pre-existing conditions, with certain exceptions. These exceptions include no pre-existing condition coverage for urinary tract infections within the first 90 days that requires treatment of the insured person in a hospital as an inpatient, no pre-existing condition coverage if the insured is traveling to the US solely for the purpose of medical treatment, and no coverage if the insured is deemed not to have been medically fit for travel.

While Visitors Protect does offer per-incident deductibles ranging from $250 to $5,000, this deductible does not apply for pre-existing condition treatment. For pre-existing condition treatment, you would pay a $1,500 deductible per incident.

The policy maximum is also not considered for pre-existing condition care with Visitors Protect. Instead, the plan pays a maximum of $25,000 for the coverage of pre-existing conditions up to age 69, or a maximum of $20,000 for age 70 and older.

Visitors Protect insurance can be purchased for durations ranging from 90 days up to one year. Plus, if you decide that you need to cancel your policy early, you can get a full refund before the effective date, or a pro-rated refund minus $50 if you cancel after the effective date and no claims have been filed.

The option to have pre-existing condition coverage for your visiting loved ones can be invaluable. Take advantage of this coverage with Visitors Protect insurance
